Those of you who read our interview with Amar Raza, whose work is also featured on the main page of Pakistaniaat, probably know that Amar had pointed out in his interview that he was running out of funds.
Well, sadly, that day has arrived. I just heard from Amar. He has given his entire collection to King Abdullah II of Jordan. I don’t know the details yet, but if his collection is moved to Jordan, it would be well beyond the reach of ordinary Pakistanis.
This might bring more international recognition for Amar’s work, his eighteen years of labor, but it is a great loss for Pakistan. Once again, our leaders and our people have lost their national wealth through their indifference and ineptitude.
I hope Amar continues his work and I hope he will find more support in his future ventures.

It truely is sad that such excellent work has been moved to Jordan. Wish Amar all the best with his future ventures.
